Recording
Open ScreenCraft to get the floating recorder bar. Choose a source (display, window or dragged area), toggle camera, microphone and system audio, and press Record. A short countdown starts the recording and can be cancelled. Press the stop button or the global shortcut to finish; the editor opens automatically.
What is captured
- The screen video, without the system cursor.
- Cursor position, clicks and keyboard shortcuts in a separate log, so the cursor can be restyled in the editor.
- Optional camera and microphone as separate tracks.
Plain typing is never stored — only shortcuts and special keys, used for the on-screen shortcut display.
Long recordings
When you stop, ScreenCraft builds a lightweight preview in the background so editing stays smooth even for recordings of an hour or more. Your original footage is never modified.
