Everything in ScreenCraft
One app that records your screen, then lets you shape the result in a real timeline. Here is the complete list, grouped by what you are trying to do.
Record
- Display, window or area
- Capture a whole display, a single window, or drag out an area. The rest of the screen is dimmed so you can see what is in frame.
- Camera, microphone, system audio
- Each has a device picker and a live level meter. The camera shows as a bubble you can restyle later.
- Resolution and frame rate
- Native, 2560, 1920, 1600 or 1280 wide at 30 or 60 fps, using ScreenCaptureKit on macOS and Windows.Graphics.Capture on Windows.
- Cursor and keys on the side
- The system cursor is not baked in. Positions, clicks and shortcut keys are logged separately so they can be redrawn and restyled. Ordinary typing is never stored.
- Always within reach
- A draggable recording bar, a cancellable countdown, a global shortcut, and menu-bar controls.
Zoom and cursor
- Automatic zooms
- Zoom regions are generated from your clicks and typing, with adjustable ease in and out. While you type, the camera follows the text caret.
- Manual control
- Add a zoom anywhere, drag and resize blocks, select several at once and edit them together or move them as a group.
- Spring-smoothed camera
- Movement uses spring physics, so it settles naturally instead of sliding on rails.
- Restylable cursor
- Several styles, size, smoothing, click effects and hide-when-idle. It hides while you type and returns when you move the mouse.
Timeline and pace
- Cut and arrange
- Split, trim, reorder, duplicate and delete clips, with undo and redo throughout.
- Speed
- Set a speed per clip, jump over idle stretches found from clicks, typing, cursor motion and speech, and ease changes into smooth ramps.
- Freeze frames and transitions
- Hold a frame for a moment, then move between clips with a true cross-dissolve, fade, flash, blur, slide or zoom.
- Work on long recordings
- Zoom the timeline itself, resize the panes, and rely on a preview proxy that is built in the background when you stop recording.
Look
- Backgrounds
- Twelve built-in wallpapers, each with optional subtle motion (drift, bokeh, waves or dust), plus gradients, solid colours and your own image with blur.
- Device frames
- Wrap the screen in a laptop, monitor, tablet, phone or browser window.
- Framing
- Padding, corner radius, shadow, crop and any aspect ratio: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 4:5 or 21:9.
- Watermark and presets
- Place your own logo with size and opacity, and save a whole look as a named preset.
Camera and audio
- Camera layouts
- Bubble, large, camera only, or side by side on either side. Each block has its own size, position, shape, mirror, border and shadow, and the change eases in.
- Music
- Lay music on its own track with fades, and let it duck automatically under your voice.
- Microphone levelling
- Quiet microphones are lifted to a healthy level without ever turning anything down.
- Optional sounds
- Add subtle click and key sounds. They are synthesised in the app, so there are no samples to license.
Captions and annotations
- Automatic captions
- Transcribed on your computer with whisper.cpp. Choose tiny, base or small English models, or the multilingual base model.
- Caption styles
- TikTok-style by default, plus red, highlight, classic and minimal looks. Edit text and timing, import and export SRT.
- Annotations
- Text titles, arrows, boxes, circles, highlights, blur, pixelate and spotlight. Pin them to the recording so they follow the zoom, or to the frame.
- Shortcut display
- Show keys like Cmd+C or Esc as you press them.
Export
- MP4 and GIF
- H.264 or HEVC at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K, 30 or 60 fps, with quality presets and motion blur.
- Hardware encoding
- Frames are rendered and encoded locally. A stalled hardware encoder is detected and retried in software.
- Smaller files
- Compress after export, or use the standalone compressor on any video.
